An Atherton Wine Imports Direct Import
Charles Van Canneyt took over the winemaking at Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat, his family’s domaine, and has been making its wines since the 2008 vintage. This is his own label, alongside that work and alongside Domaine des Chezeaux, which he and his wife Anne-Sophie Gagey bought in late 2021.
The range is built around Gevrey-Chambertin — Chambertin, Charmes-Chambertin, Ruchottes-Chambertin, the Cazetiers — and reaches Échezeaux, Corton, Chambolle-Musigny, Morey-St-Denis and Nuits-St-Georges, with a small négociant side for appellations the family does not own. The whites come the same way, from Bourgogne up to Chablis Vaudésir and Bâtard-Montrachet.
The style is the one Charles honed at Hudelot-Noëllat: perfumed and supple, charming early, and built to age without ever turning severe.
